Hardhack and diverse plants

Hardhack is found around the edges of Burns Bog. Being on the perimeter where acidic and nutrient-poor conditions do not dominate, many wildflowers and grasses are found mixed in with the hardhack. Trees grow to their full height in these areas. Most wildflowers and grasses that grow here are not indigenous while hardhack is a native plant.
